Eva Herscowitz has recently received endorsements from Bernie Sanders, John Lewis, the New York Times, and millions of small donors. Sanders’ endorsement pushes the Herscowitz campaign further left from her other Democratic counterparts, while Lewis’ support reinforces Herscowitz’s platform for civil rights and liberties and equality. These endorsements are excellent for bringing more liberal voters to support Herscowitz, in addition to encouraging more small donors to fund Herscowitz’s campaign. The support from the New York Times is a wonderful help to Herscowitz and will guarantee her some positive media coverage, possibly giving her a comeback against the recent scandal, “The Godmother,” on illegal pasta dealings. As the media is considered as the fourth branch of government, the New York Times’ strong media presence will give Herscowitz a boost due to its influence over the American people. Herscowitz’s campaign should also be quite well funded, as she states that she is receiving “average donation amount of $27” from the her expressed body of donors. Most importantly, Herscowitz has been endorsed by six interest groups: the NAACP, the NEA, The Sierra Club, the AARP, the AFL-CIO, and the ACLU. The NAACP supports Herscowitz’s platform for equality and racial justice while promoting minorities, the NEA backs Herscowitz’s education platform, the Sierra Club promotes Herscowitz’s environmental platform, the AARP and Herscowitz share the same views on making healthcare universal, the AFL-CIO supports Herscowitz’s platform for tax reform and her advocacy for workers’ rights, and the ACLU favors Herscowitz’s platform on fighting for the rights of LGBTQ+ Americans, women, minorities, etc., as well as her progressive ideology.
