Oprah Winfrey, Anderson Cooper, Malala Yousafzai, and Stephen Hawking have all recently endorsed presidential candidate Jeremy Wenick. The endorsers, while not politicians, do represent different aspects of Wenick’s platform. Yousafzai’s endorsement indicates her support for Wenick’s foreign affairs platform and his values in women and education, Cooper and Winfrey reveal the strength of Wenick’s liberal platform, and their celebrity status will give Wenick widespread attention. Hawking’s support helps Wenick with his STEM and education platforms, possibly helping him come back from the Dino-gate scandal broadcasted days before. However, problems arise with Wenick’s endorsers, as there are not veteran or current politicians who display their confidence in Wenick’s political and communication abilities; no major party officials from his own party are supporting him. While Wenick’s platform is supposed to be central-liberal, he does claim to have a conservative economic and tax reform position. This raises concern as no conservative supporter nor any clearly defined politician or party member has supported him. While he could be considered an outsider for this, Wenick runs the risk of having the devout followers of the two major political parties not willing to follow him due to his lack of support from party officials and politicians.
