Max Gersch

Max Gersch, candidate from the Republican Party for the 2018 election, was born in 1961 in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania in a family of three children.  Born into a lower class family, Gersch was only able to afford to attend West Point for college. After serving in the Army for 18 years, Gersch transitioned into politics and became the Governor of Pennsylvania in 2012. He strongly advocates for the American Dream for the American people; Gersch defines the American Dream as a promise that everyone is granted the same opportunities for success. His education policy strongly adheres to this concept of the American Dream: if elected he hopes to end teacher tenure in order to increase competition and the quality of teachers. He believes that every student should be able to attend the school of his or her choosing, supporting the voucher program. His slogan: “Learning today, Leading tomorrow.”
