Shehrez Chaudhri

Shehrez Chaudhri was born and raised in Florida; Chaudhri has been the senator of Florida for 6 years and ambassador of Pakistan for 4 years. Chaudhri is trained as a cardiologist and correlates this to his ability to helping people and “saving lives”. In regard to many of his policies, Chaudhri adopts a view that is primarily humanitarian and promotes equal opportunity. He is most passionate about improving poverty by improving education standards throughout the country. He believes the root of all poverty in the country to be lackluster education standards. By ensuring that all parts of the country have a nourishing education system, the problem of poverty will be remedied.

Chaudhri advocates for all students in America to have the opportunity to receive a well rounded and fulfilling education in order to prepare them for future success and economic prosperity. Chaudhri will implement this through his education platform of increasing funding to public schools and instituting programs that close the achievement gap. Chaudhri wants progressive taxation, including more taxes on the wealthy. Chaudhri supports Obamacare and wants to bolster it as well as have the government provide individuals with health insurance. Chaudhri supports protection of the environment and wants to create legislation that transition from fossil fuels to a green and clean energy society. On foreign policy, Chaudhri wants the US to accept North Korea as a nuclear armed state as long as there will be international inspections into North Korea’s nuclear programs under monitoring by the IAEA. Chaudhri advocates for imposing additional sanctions on Russia unless Russia agrees to stop hostilities on neighboring states and ceases its hostile cyber activities against America and its allies.
